Run Chang Wan, meaning "Moisten Intestine Pill," is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula designed specifically for constipation characterized by dry, hard stools. The formula was originally devised by Li Gao (Li Dong-yuan) in the 13th century and later revised by Shen Jin-ao in 1773 .

Unlike harsh laxatives that force bowel movements through chemical irritation, Run Chang Wan works by moistening the intestines from within – adding lubrication to help dry, hard stools pass naturally and comfortably. The name reflects this gentle approach: "Run" means to moisten, nourish, and lubricate.

This formula is particularly effective for "heat-related constipation" (实热便秘) where excess heat in the body has dried up intestinal fluids, leaving stools hard, dry, and difficult to pass. 

You may benefit from Run Chang Wan if you experience the following:

• Constipation with dry, hard, pellet-like stools that are difficult to pass

• A feeling of incomplete evacuation after bowel movements

• Abdominal distension or discomfort associated with constipation

• Infrequent bowel movements (fewer than 3 times per week)

• Thirst or dry mouth

• A sensation of heat in the body

• Dry, lustreless skin

• Constipation aggravated by spicy foods, alcohol, or hot weather

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this pattern is called "Excess Heat with Fluid Depletion" (实热津亏) – when internal heat evaporates the body's fluids, the intestines become dry like a riverbed in drought, and stools become hard and stuck. Run Chang Wan is traditionally used to cool the heat and replenish the fluids to "float the boat". 

Directions: Adults: 6 pills 2 times per day. Orally taken with warm water.

Non-medicinal Ingredients: Activated charcoal, Talc, Beeswax-White. No charcoal, No colorant, Natural Color 

Cauctions: If symptoms persist or worsen, or if you develop new symptoms, discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner. Do not use if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
